Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for The Morning Show season 4

In the clip, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon's leading characters contemplate the future of their news network, UBA

"It is layered, it's complicated, it's emotional, it hits on a lot of topics and current events," Aniston told PEOPLE about the new season

The first teaser for The Morning Show season 4 is here — and the one-minute clip released by Apple TV+ on Wednesday, July 9, provides fans with a brief look at what's to come from the Emmy-winning drama.

Set to a moody rendition of The Temptation's "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," the teaser opens with voiceovers of Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) and Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) talking about the future of their news network, UBA, before both characters are seen walking alongside a glass-plated building in New York City.

"We have to stay together on this," Bradley is heard saying before Alex says, "I need to have a say in the future of this place."

"I have to do what's best for the network," Bradley then says, seemingly in response to her former TMS co-host.

"We have to question everything that we see and hear now more than ever," Alex is heard saying while Bradley notes, "There was a cover-up… The truth always comes out, you know that."

As Alex and Bradley continue walking, other voices are heard as they see the reflection of those characters in the windows next to them. Among them is Chip Black (Mark Duplass), who "needs some dirt;" Cory Ellison (Billy Crudup), who suggests it's "nice" when someone else does their "dirty work;" Paul Marks (Jon Hamm), who seems to suggest Alex could "run this place" in the future.

In addition to those returning favorites, there are brief flashes of Stella Bak (Greta Lee) and Mia Jordan (Karen Pittman) as well as season 4 newcomers Boyd Holbrook as Brodie and Marion Cotillard as Celine Dumont.

The clip then ends with Cory saying, "It sounds like the drama at the network is juicier than the drama on the network," as Alex and Bradley approach each other.

"Face your truth," the show teases.

If the teaser wasn't enough to get fans excited, Aniston previously told PEOPLE that "it's a great season. It's jam-packed, that’s for sure," before adding that "it's really suspenseful." In another conversation, Aniston said, "It is layered, it's complicated, it's emotional, it hits on a lot of topics and current events."

According to Apple TV+, "Season 4 of The Morning Show opens in spring 2024, almost two years after the events of season 3. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America."

The streamer adds, "In a world rife with deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups — who can you trust? And how can you know what’s actually real?"

In addition to Cotillard and Holbrook, the upcoming episodes will also welcome Jeremy Irons as Martin Levy, Aaron Pierre as Miles and William Jackson Harper as Ben. Additionally, Nicole Beharie returns as Christine Hunter after first joining the show in season 3.
