He said the Food Network chef he’d most want to cook for him is Geoffrey Zakarian, with hors d'oeuvres made by the Bobby's Triple Threat titans

Bobby Flay offered hot takes on various culinary topics in a new Food Network video.

The celebrity chef candidly answered a series of rapid-fire questions in the Instagram post, which was captioned, “Do you agree with @bobbyflay's takes on these controversial cooking questions?”

The Beat Bobby Flay star revealed that he does not put oil in boiling water when making pasta, he does wash chicken before cooking it and he believes that pre-minced garlic is “never okay.”

When asked if it’s acceptable to wash a cast iron skillet with soap, he replied, “I don’t wash it with soap, no. If I need to wash it out, I just make sure that it’s bone dry.”

Next, Flay was asked, “How do you feel about animals in the kitchen?”

“Cats only,” he asserted.

He also shared that he likes adding crème fraîche to scrambled eggs, he does not wash rice and he considers it “sacrilegious” to break pasta before cooking it.

Finally, he was asked which fellow Food Network chef he’d want to cook for him.

Flay began his response by bringing up the titans from Bobby’s Triple Threat, which returns on Sept. 2. In February, PEOPLE announced that Ayesha Nurdjaja will replace Tiffany Derry on the competition series, joining Michael Voltaggio and Brooke Williamson.

“They always cook for other people,” he said. “They never cook for me. So, you know we’ll take Tiffany, Michael and Brooke, for sure. They can do the hors d’oeuvres. But you know, I want Geoffrey Zakarian to cook the entree. He’s a great chef.”

Commenters on the video reacted to Flay’s answers, even disagreeing with some of his stances.

“Washing chicken but not rinsing rice is wild 😂,” read one response, while another said, “What’s wrong with pre-minced garlic?”

“I don't understand the reasoning behind not breaking the pasta,” someone else wrote. Another commenter noted, “I was cool until he said cats can be in the kitchen. 🤔”

The new season of Bobby’s Triple Threat is the first with Williamson and Flay as an official couple, after they took their relationship public in March. Both chefs appeared on the most recent season of BBQ Brawl.

Ahead of that premiere in June, Flay opened up about the relationship in an interview with PEOPLE.

“I love working with Brooke,” he said. “We have a lot in common. We're very lucky. We're both chefs. We both have kids. We're both parents.”

Williamson has a son, Hudson, from her previous marriage to Nick Roberts, and Flay has a daughter, Sophie Flay, from his marriage to Kate Connelly.

“We are both in the restaurant business,” Flay continued. “We have tons to talk about in terms of the things that we love to do besides just go and have dinner every once in a while. So it's been really great."

"And one of the things I really like about being in a relationship with Brooke is that she's great to bounce things off of," he added. "Like we ask each other's opinion about things that we're doing food wise or restaurant wise or business wise, all the time. So it's really nice to have kind of a best friend that you're dating that can also be helpful answering the questions that you have.”

Season 4 of Bobby’s Triple Threat premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 8:30 pm EST on the Food Network.
